Trimble Nomad Handheld.
Today I had a pleasure to test Trimble Nomad handheld. What a great device! Well, maybe not for every day life and not for a usual user, for its size reminds a one more on a yellow brick than on a pocket pc. And the toy is not that chip, its prise varies between 1,500$ and 2500$… But it’s a real dream for a software developer! 806 MHz processor, 128 RAM, 480×640 resolution, isn’t it great?

Of course it’s equiped with Bluetooth, Wlan and Sirf III GPS. There is also a possibility to connect USB devices, for example a memory stick. Trimble Nomad is driven by Windows Mobile 6.0 (requires ActiveSync 4,5 or higher for connection with your desctop computer).
Besides splendid computing power, Trimble Nomad is a very robust device. I didn’t try to play soccer with it, but I threw it several times against the wall… and it works!!!
Now I’m looking forward to a new device, that our company yesterday ordered , HP iPAQ 114. It must be also a cool device. I’ll publish then my feedback in a later post.

I was scanning something else about this on another blog. Interesting. Your position on it is diametrically opposed to what I read to begin with. I am still mulling over the opposite points of view, but I’m tipped heavily toward yours. And irrespective, that’s what is so good about advanced democracy and the marketplace of thoughts online.
